Field Day!!! July 29, 2008 - We had our Field Day event this weekend! Everything went really well! For more details on the event, and how to submit your photos/videos if you attended, see the Field Day link at the left! Also remember the meeting has been changed to July 8th, be sure to attend! Field Day Equipment Test / June ARES Meeting June 10, 2008 - We will be testing our equipment at our Field Day Locaton (McKey Park Shelter #2) on Saturday, June 21st, the Saturday before Field Day 2008. We will begin at 8:00am sharp, and will be doing equipment setups, and testing the computer logging system to make sure everything will be go for our main operation on June 28 and 29. During this test session we will also discuss our ARES related topics and consider this our ARES meeting for the month. This will mean we will have 2 meetings rather close to each other, but that should work out just fine! Ham VE Testing May 10, 2008 - Amateur Radio VE testing took place at the Valdosta Regional Library today at 11 a.m. There were four individuals who took the tests, three of which passing and attaining their CSCE forms. Rebecca Wittenborn (KJ4EBG), daughter of N7SDQ passed her Technician exam. Jonathan Straub (NØJMS), passed his Extra Class upgrade exam, and his wife Tiffany (KJ4EBH) passed her Technician Exam. The VE's presiding over this testing session were: Kenny Freeman (K4BEE), Frank Thompson (WD4FUI), and Larry Leonard (KI4JKB). The next testing session for the Valdosta area will be held in July. Field Day Website May 10, 2008 - The VARC Official Field Day Website has been added to varc.net. You can find the site that holds all planning information and operating information at the link in the Main Menu. Club Dues We are still in need of members to pay their dues. Membership dues are there to help with the upkeep of the radio club and equipment. Once our treasurer has a PayPal account linked to the club's checking account, we will attempt to accept dues payments from this website. There are new features coming with this website for club members, and these features will be turned on/off according to a member’s status as far as dues paid are concerned.
